~You're my best friend, along with everyone I've ever met

So today Alix dropped by and I got to try out his 3DS with the new Kid Icarus game! The 3D effect is kind of fascinating, but it can get sort of headachey and also it's kind of annoying not being able to shift your head a lot ( Read more... )

art, phoenix wright, pokémon, there's a hunter spookin around here, edgar and/or scriabin, giant sketchposts, silent hill

That sounds about right from what I'm heard...like, the parent wolves can still be called the "alphas" it's just that the word doesn't mean what most PUA probably think it means. (I.E. Strong, dominant male wolf who maintains a harem of lady wolves who he can mate with whenever he pleases, or some crap like that.) I've also gotten the idea that the 'alpha' PAIR mates for life, and might even be a bit monogamous with each other. So, yeah...closer to a family unit. :B

Hmmmm...Hunter is the informant/witness character who always ends up getting way too involved in the cases in spite of not being a cop herself.
OR, she's a friendly rival from a different department who always ends up getting way too involved in Smoker's cases.
Either way, she's the love interest. XD
(Granted, you could do that by making her the rookie cop, and thus turning this into the genderswap version of FAKE...but I just thought it would be funnier to make Jockey the partner. :B)

BICKERING COUPLES. NO NONSENSE DISCUSSIONS OF FANTASTIC AND OFTEN SILLY OCCURRENCES. SUBVERTING THE HELL OUT OF TYPICAL FAIRY TALE TROPES. Man, I want to re-read these books now.
(Am also thinking Lady Infected/Enchanted Forest Crossover for some reason.)

Haha yeah the basic GOTTA FIGHT ALL THE OTHER MALES ON THE WAY TO THE TOP AND THEN BANG ALL THE WOMEN AAAWW YEAAAH
not so much out of captivity

Haha OR PERHAPS THE NOSEY REPORTER
OR EVEN THE LAWYER WHO TAKES ON THE CASES ONCE THEY BRING EM IN but then she wouldn't get too involved until the end, haha
JOCKEY AS THE ROOKIE PARTNER IS DEFINITELY HILARIOUS maybe Hunter could be WORKING FOR THE MAFIA and change her mind OR maybe she's a DOUBLE AGENT but Smoker doesn't know? THIS IS SO GOOFY

I KNOW RIGHT and they hold up pretty well now that I'm rereading them. :D Haha
THAT CROSSOVER WOULD BE GREAT but how to do it :o

Heee...yeah, it's easy to forget that animals behave differently in captivity, but because they are so much easier to observe there...hmmm. I'll have to look this up now. 83
Without looking, it sounds like captive wolves behave a bit closer to how DOGS act, which is probably one of the other things that throws a lot of people off.
(of course, I say that, and not all alpha dogs actually fit that model, either...like, with my parents dogs--all three neutered or spayed--the oldest male is definitely the 'alpha', but he is incredibly laid-back about the whole business. The only time he ever acts at all dominant is when one of the other two is actually getting on his nerves. In which case he will bark, once, very loudly. And that is all he ever needs to do to get his point across. XD)

SO VERY GOOFY!
I actually like the idea of Hunter being the nosey reporter...specifically, the nosey photographer, because I love the idea of her running around pretending to be Peter Parker. (Peter Parkour, even!) But then, Gets In Over Her Head and Learns Too Much, and so she ends up with Smoker and Jockey as her official police protection unit! Only they have a hard time getting her to cooperate, and...yeah. XD

THEY REALLY DO! I'm still not as fond of book 4, but, ehh, at least I know exactly why it's so radically different from the others, now. (Might have been a stronger book if it had been from the POV of the fire witch character, come to think of it.)
Hmmmm...I'LL HAVE TO GET BACK TO YOU ON THAT ONE. I have some VERY vague ideas right now, but nothing solid enough to talk about. :o

YEAH THAT'S TRUE i think there's a vid out there by a top wolf researcher who's all "yeah back then we didn't know better but seriously alpha wolves in the wild are just the pack's parents"

haha I KIND OF LIKE JIA'S IDEA DOWN THERE OF HUNTER BEING A RECURRING THIEF WHO KEEPS GETTING AWAY but oh man peter parkour is also so great. THERE ARE SO MANY POSSIBILITIES HERE

i have such vague memories of book 4! :O darn it i i wish the libraries around here had those books, i want to read the third one again aaaaaa

Am I the only one who thinks it'd be fun if Hunter was a recurring criminal that kept getting off on technicalities, like Valjean and Javert but with more ladyromance and less angsting.

HAHA OH MAN I CAN TOTALLY SEE THIS Hunter as the crafty catburglar who keeps getting snagged and released and keeps flirting with her and IT MAKES HER FEEL SO ANGRY AND AWKWARD SOMEDAY SHE'LL PUT HER AWAY FOR GOOD

I now feel bad because I just realized I stole that idea from your Sim Adventures post WAY back with the Survivor ladies and Hunter was in the criminal profession. Shoot.
