In other news, the microwave caught on fire. Apparently someone left something in there for too long or something, no one is exactly sure. I just woke up to the smell of smoke, went downstairs, and bam, there was a lump of charcoal in the microwave. We went and got a new one but dang.
I've been working on a project, but I can't really show any of it to you guys until it's done, which will be a while. This is always sort of a frustrating position to be in, haha.
I did have a dream last night where the two guys from Insane Clown Posse were in a Pinky and the Brain type show as mice, then they eventually became cats with tongues for eyes and I think there was some kind of horrible mutation or explosion or something. It was pretty weird.
I guess as a sort of review, I've been watching a bit of The Amazing Adventures of Gumball. I like the art style of the show, and it's interesting how it combines real life backgrounds and 2d animation and stop motion and 3d animation, but so far all the characters and plotlines are... boring. Or sort of generic. So far it hasn't seemed like anything I haven't seen on any other cartoon. It's a shame because I was really hoping it'd follow in the footsteps of Chowder (which I enjoyed) with its weird metajokes and unabashed bizarreness, but instead it seems like the only thing it's really got going for it so far is its weird art style. Then again it did just start, so maybe it'll pick up over time.
The Problem Solverz continues to be as aggressively hideous as possible, and yet somehow I can't quite stop tivoing it. There's something to it that isn't totally awful, but I'm not sure what it is. DO I JUST FEEL PITY FOR IT PERHAPS?? Who knows.
I also watched the new Looney Tunes show. I was preinclined to like it because the Cartoon Brew people threw
hilarious tantrums over it and I tend to be contrary that way, but so far it's just sort of weirdly sedate. I'm not a huge fan of Looney Tunes cartoons to begin with, but I generally expect some sort of mayhem or screaming or wackiness or whatever. So far the show seems pretty quiet and dialogue focused, and everyone seems pretty mellow all the time. Which is sort of a tonal shift, I guess. I dunno, I'm not tivoing it or anything, I just catch it every now and then, but it's just kind of boring. Also the weird music video interludes feel like they're trying to capitalize on the SNL digital shorts kind of formula which just feels really bizarre. Oh well.
OH ALSO I have been having trouble with my email lately, so I might be losing comments or whatever here and there. IF IT TAKES ME FOREVER TO REPLY THAT MIGHT BE ONE REASON WHY
