THE WORLD IS CONSPIRING AGAINST ME AND A COELE APPARENTLY
Bleh I'm having one of those days where I seem to be screwing up everything I do/say. BAH. I have like eight pages of more Smoker-Hunter stuff that I need to scan but I want to finish the current little comic I'm working on with them first.
SO IN THE MEANTIME while looking for my Dungeon Keeper CD, I found my old Monster Rancher 2 disk. A little-known fact (perhaps?) is that I was REALLY obsessed with Monster Rancher back in the day, and in fact I wouldn't even say that I stopped at any point. If I started playing it again as intently as I used to, I could probably sink a whole ton of hours right back into it without thinking. That game still holds sway over me.
But my heart only belongs to Monster Rancher 2 - the later installments never quite captured me as much as that one. Despite me and Alix both starting new games via the PS3, I have since found my old PS1 memory card so I decided to go look through my files and see what I had. WANT TO SEE WHAT ME AND ALIX AND FUNKICARUS RAISED BACK IN THE DAY
I have played this game way too much.
This was the monster on my ranch when it loaded. I have no recollection of raising this thing whatsoever. Rauzdaur, eh? My god that's some high Int for a monster that's three years old. :O
Only Rank C though? Pffft.

Apparently I haven't been sending this guy on errantry at all, hmm. Errantry is where your monsters learn new moves.

One of the first unlockable monsters I always picked up was a Phoenix. I tended to name them Quex, sort of after the Quetzacoatl summon in FF8, which I also named Quex. I'M CONSISTENT

I picture all Phoenixes in my head like this Phoenix right here. This is why my Phoenix!Phoenix looks the way he does. THIS GAME HAS AFFECTED ME FOR LIFE

Tammo is my baby. Back when I first played this game, he was one of the first monsters I found (you could generate monsters from ANY Cd in your house) and I fell in love with him. He found me my Phoenix feather, got up to the Major 4, was a great powerhouse... then someone saved over my game. >:(
As a result, every game I tend to start in MR2 has a Rocky Hare named Tammo in it in his memory. HE'S A GOOD HARE
Poor Tammo here just got too old to fight anymore. :< Although hilariously enough, after I entered him in a tournament, he would usually ask me for something. Most of the time it was a Popsicle Stick, which cost like 2 gold. I would say No since I didn't want to spoil him.
ANYWAY he went through the second Major 4 tourney, winning by the skin of his teeth against overwhelming odds, and he got me the cup. Then after the battle, as usual, Colt told me that Tammo wanted a Popsicle Stick. I moved down to No, and Funkmeister shouted DEAR GOD GIVE HIM A POPSICLE STICK, HE'S OLD AND TIRED AND HE WON YOU THE TOURNEY AND IT'S LIKE 2 GOLD, GIVE HIM THE #$^# POPSICLE STICK
and so that day Tammo did get his popsicle stick
Tammo liked to playfight. :>
1-2 Punch is WHERE IT'S AT i cheaped my way through so many tourneys with that. That and Straight. With Pow as high as Tammo's, he could wear down the enemy pretty quick.

When did I raise this thing? I have no recollection of doing this. I remember liking Mews from the FIRST Monster Rancher... I guess I must have actually raised one at some point?

I do like Mews, I admit it. This is sort of an odd looking one though.
I DO recall raising this Undine, although I now can't remember why I did that, as they don't particularly appeal to me or anything.

Okay I've detailed here before that I hate/fear moving dolls, they creep me out. Puppets, ventriloquist dummies, Chuckytype things, I hate them all. Wrackys are basically walking Howdy Doodie dolls with a knife. I hate them.
I have NO IDEA how I got this Wracky/Metalner (possibly the stupidest looking monster mix ever) but I assume I got it off some CD. WHY I raised a monster that I hated I have no idea, and I obviously didn't intend on raising him seriously since I gave him a name like MulDIE (like Mulder from X-Files you see, except with the threat "DIE!" at the end). I have no explanation for this.

Going into Alix's game, here was his Arrowhead. :B I remember Alix training this guy - it inspired the MY NAME IS DEWLESS, WATCH ME GO DOWN EASY comic that I am too lazy to go find for you. It's really old.
