It's a...Girl!
I have got to say, it was pretty darn cool.
The technician we had was very animated which definately helped our excitement. She was very adept too, definately new her stuff.
But the technology was crazy. I mean they are able to apply color to movement so we were able to zoom in on the 4 chambers of the heart to make sure they were pumping correctly. And we got to see the kidneys working...it was very cool.
She (the baby) was posing. She had her hand up on her head in a "strike a pose" fashion. And she was waving (really just moving her arm, but what can I say, I am going to call it waving.) She opened up both fists so we could literally see and count fingers...and same with toes, so all digits have been counted and accounted for. We looked at the spine and it was straight and closed.
The baby weighs just about a pound and is about 7 inches long, so its still teeny tiny, but it was amazing how developed she is.
We saw her eyes and her nostrils and it was just very very very cool.
The technician said that while she couldn't say it was THE healthiest baby she'd ever seen, as she had, thankfully, seen many healthy babies, she did say that the baby was among the healthies she'd seen and that there was no hint of a problem anywhere. The technician also said she wasn't allowed to be 100% sure on the gender, but that if we had a boy, we should come back and she'd give us $100 as there was no way this was a boy.
The technician also handed us a CD with some images on it at the end, rather than give us a few crummy printouts--which was also cool!
So I must say I am all excited...again!
