had another appointment yesterday.
everything is still fine.
baby's heart is beating at an upbeat (pun intended) 149 bpm.
the doctor says normally in a pregnancy decisive movement can be felt by week #20, which is coming up pretty fast. because of the position of the placenta, it is possible, it may take a week or 2 longer for me to feel it as the placenta may act as a dampening field requiring the baby to be that much stronger in his/her punches/kicks before i can feel it, but still its coming soon!
my high definition, 4-D ultra sound is scheduled for April 25th, this will be the final test where they will be able to critically look at anatomy to check the spine to make sure its developed properly (no spina bifida) and that the brain is developing properly, and...it is very likely we will also be able to determine gender.
hubby and i are very excited. i am mostly excited because i'd like to stop referring to the baby as "it" in my conversations and head. i knows its probably terribly un-pc of me, but i don't like saying him or her if i don't know which it is, so i've been relying on the neutral, and rather unemotional/detached "it" which is highly inappropriate. so i will just like being able to use a proper pronoun when referring to the baby. so right before my birthday i will hopefully have a final diagnostic of healthy so far and boy or girl! woot!
