Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have less than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.
(I have 32, so I'm going with every 7th and the last one)
Fantasy - This interest has many meanings to me, but the intended meaning is the genre. I've been a Tolkien fan forever, loved the old D&D cartoon, and have been playing D&D since I was a lil'un.
HPLC - Less of an interest and more a way of life for me nowadays. It stands for High Performance Liquid Chromatography. Any science geeks out there may know what that means, but the long and short of it is that it is a chemical analysis technique that is the bread and butter of the pharmaceutical regulatory industry. Using a liquid mobile phase, you move molecules over a stationary phase under high pressure. Molecules will have differing affinity to the stationary phase based on their structure and composition. Since the mobile phase all moves at the same rate, the molecules separate out and come out of the instrument at different times. They are then detected on the basis of their absorbance of UV light (most commonly).
Megalomania - You all know that I rule the world. Most of you have come to grips about it and aren't going all postal, and this is good. Acceptance is the first step. Don't worry, I'm not a harsh domitor. The effects of my rule are so subtle that you're not likely to notice. Some of you are even allowed the illusion of what we omnipotent like to call "free will". I even understand that religions have sprouted up all around the world built on the pretense that people have "choices" and can "decide" to do the "right thing". This is a natural effect of human pride, a fault that I purposefully hardwired into everyone so that they would act in a more amusing manner. Don't worry, it doesn't really matter what you do here, as it's all already mapped out for you. And trust me, it was difficult work.
Ruling the World - See Megalomania. I'll skip to the next one to avoid being redundant.
SCA - The wonderful Society for Creative Anachronism. If you don't know what this is, and you're on my friends list, I haven't been doing my job very well. Where else can you fight, dance, drink, camp and wench all in the same afternoon? If you said "McNair's" you guessed the other place.
Writing - I don't get to do this much anymore. I've written a few erotic stories, but I really like writing supporting information for my D&D campaign. It'd be nice if I could find some players....
