I am not the type of girl who sits at home waiting for a guy to call. In fact, I don't sit at home waiting for anyone to call. I simply don't believe in it. This is why I have a cell phone, not a land line. If you've got the energy to go out, and live in a city where there are people to see and things to do, then there's no good reason to stay in. It all started when my parents forbade the word 'bored' in our home. If you couldn't find something to do, they'd find you something to do.

So tonight, I'd talked to some friends about swing dancing, but no one could. Did I go by myself? No way! I went to dinner with my roommate at the local place where wearing black isn't a requirement, but feeling disenfranchised is. Next was an attempt to find a church, which since they didn't show up, we believe has closed. Then, coffee and dessert at the middle eastern cafe, which Joyce said that if she ever disappears for a while and we can't find her, she'll be there in the corner, sketch pad and coffee in hand.
Then to watch the dancing, participating in the requisite line dance. Next week, we'll be out en masse, some to dance, some to mock. Fun for all.
We've also instituted a Bollywood night, which is much improved by Rohit, the native speaker. Added to which is some of the most amazing chai you've ever tasted, and you've got yourself a winner.
