Self-Publishing with Amazon’s Direct-To-Kindle

(Is cross-posting between Tumblr and LJ a thing? Pretty sure it isn't. But yeah, for the record, also putting it here.)

Okay, this is happening. I am weirdly excited, even though that’s probably both ridiculous and unwarranted. But what’ve I got to lose?! So. After having spent most of today on putting together a non-fandom version of Pull Me Under, changing the character names and tweaking a few details, fiddling with the formatting... It is now available as a Kindle ebook.

Here! Look! Pull Me Under!

I would be immensely, incredibly, so very grateful if a couple of you guys were maybe willing to write a review, or recommend it to people you think might be interested, or... you know. Help me get it noticed? Somehow? (But I won’t be upset if no one does.) I guess it’s easy for one single ebook to get lost amongst the tens of thousands which are available, so any help would be so very appreciated. :)

Now excuse me while I aggressively remind myself that it doesn’t matter if no one ends up being interested in my little ebook. At worst, it cost me a day of my time. Yes. (But oh God, what if this is a huge mistake? What if people hate it? But then again, what if it’s enough to cover my concert ticket for the Where We Are tour?! That would be so so fantastic.)

Anyway. For other fanfic authors who may want to do the same, I collected some information below the cut. The process is pretty straight-forward, really. (Alternatives to Kindle/Amazon are lulu.com and createspace.com; I haven’t looked into them yet.)

[Self-publishing pointers for others!]

fic, not happening why is this happening?, sort of, personal stuff
