I really, really want to write a fic, kind of experimental, in which Charles and Erik slowly come to the realisation that they're characters in a screenplay and beg the writer not to give them a tragic ending, and then, eventually take matters into their own hands. It would be fascinating to write!
Last Harry Potter tonight, also known as: Almost Everyone Dies! I am clinging to the useless hope they didn't film the epilogue, but it's probably in vain.
If I had, say, 800 000 Euros at my disposal, I'd quit my job and open up a small Bed&Breakfast. Having stayed in both anonymous business hotels, hostels and B&Bs, I think I have a pretty good concept of what's what sets a good B&B apart. There is nto a single one of them in the city where I live. Dude, buying a nice, old villa, redecorating it so that there are a maximum of five individually designed guest rooms, a lounge for everyone, with books and music, freshly made breakfast... My coffee is better than what you get in most cafés! Not that I have any experience in the area as such, but I do have experience hosting events and accomodating different cultures, and I know my city like the back of my hand. (Well, almost.) And I'm not exactly hopeless with numbers and figures, and with minors in law and economics... You know, it could work. If I could get the seed money without completely encumbering myself with debts.
Anyway. Work out a business plan, win the lottery, and then? Yay.
Somewhat related: Does anyone have experience with couchsurfing.org or the likes (BeWelcome,...)? It all seems like a neat idea, but I've seen some criticism both of bad things happening and of Couchsurfing.com's structure.
Why's the rum gone?!
