A friendly game with urns and Alps.

Hello, new people! (And hello, not-so-new people, too.) I feel like I should do something to entertain you and thus make you enjoy your stay, but my headstands are wobbly and it’s been a while since I sung in a choir. Which is why I’ll spare you. But! I am always up for silly games, so here’s one: Twenty questions. Only it’s actually, randomly, ( Read more... )

random stuff

Those are the most random questions ever. Also, not actually seven...

1. None of the movies I would pick would necessarily educate anyone, I'd pick them because I like them and think everyone should have seen them. So, I'd pick: Aliens, Calamity Jane, The Fifth Element, Secretary and The Princess Bride (I would kill for someone to write those last two as bandom ones. I dreamt a Brendon/Ryan (as if I'd dream anything else) version of The Princess Bride once, it was awesome).

2. Yes. I wanted to play with the elephants...

3. Random dancing is bizarre, and quite possibly why I've never watched a Bollywood movie. I'd have to say somewhere really random, so IKEA (as I can't use it for #5!)

4. Yes, although I have the artistic ability of a pea so it probably wouldn't be very successful.

5. My job at Christmas. In fact, any area of retail at Christmas is nuts.

Random for the win. And hee hee, someone is paying attention to my ramblings! I was wondering if anyone would notice. It's five, like the number of movies and my user name! *g*

1. I'm pretty sure softlyforgotten and I were discussing a Princess Bride AU at one point... I also must admit that I've seen only two out of your five.

2. Also, trapezes!

3. I know! It's very bizzare! But if you give me enough alcohol, I'll find it funny.

4. It only has to keep the ashes inside. Heh.

5. Oh God. Christmas. They've started selling Christmas food already. Ugh.

Ooh, fun! You've provided creative procrasination :P

1. So maybe not all so educational, but movies that would please me greatly to force the masses to watch: Romeo+Juliet, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog (totes counts), About a Boy, Aladdin (...), and Planet Earth. That last will kep them going for a while!

2. Maybe not a big top, but I definitely would have loved to join Cirque du Soleil!

3. A circus! Think of the magic! Or maybe a skating rink, because that would be funny.

4. Absolutely. Why, is that weird?

5. Sitting in a boring, interminable meeting without the ability to doodle. Ugh...horrors!

I am an expert when it comes to procrastination, and always happy to help others with their own projects.

1. Which version of Romeo & Juliet? The Leo di Caprio one? And, oh. Planet Earth! I am in love with the Deep Blue part of it. Just, oh God. Such wonderful pictures.
2. Me too! Cirque du Soleil, I really, really want to see it one day.
3. A circus could be lots of fun - people swinging from ropes or jumping over benches! Also, skating. I don’t have the skill, but I admire those who do.
4. I don’t think it is! I definitely would be tempted!
5. Ahaha, oh, I know what you mean. Oh, do I ever. Fortunately, my Blackberry allows me to write whiney e-mails to my colleagues while looking very important and not at all as if I’m just trying to stay awake.

Random question!!! they'll go lovely with my random thinking ways ^^

1. They won't probably educate anyone, but they'll entertain (hopefully) and maybe incline people to embrace and love diversity, and they'd be: Big Fish, The Lord of the Rings (I know they're 3, but let's count 'em as one!?), Breakfast on Pluto, The Corpse Bride and Todo sobre mi Madre;
2. Yes, I wanted to be the animals care taker :);
3. All over Madrid!!!
4. I would take it for sure!!! Then I'll have the urn made by someone who'll be actually able to create something not awful;
5. Strikes at the airports while you're waiting and hoping to catch your plane...and I'm fucking terrified about the possibility that some idiot will vote for Berlusconi again at the next elections *weeps*.

Random wins at life!
1. Oh. You reminded me that one day, I must rewatch all three LotR movies, all in one session. Also, the last movie on your list doesn’t ring a bell. Should it?
2. Tigers? Elephants?
4. And then paint it with flowers!
5. There always will be people voting for politicians that have you tearing out your hair. Just, ugh. Look at Blocher and Switzerland, or Austria and (rest in pieces) Haider… But, yeah. Incidentally, have you seen the movie Bye Bye Berlusconi?

1. The title in English should be All about my mother and it's by Pedro Almodovar.
2. At the time I had a huge soft spot for baby chimps *cuddles*
5. No, I haven't...but now that you've mentioned it I'll want to watch it...even if most things Berlusconi-related give me colitis! OMG, he poisoned my football, too!

1. If you somehow obtained control over worldwide television for one day, which five movies would you pick to educate the masses? Why?
Dziga Vertov, Man with a movie camera. Spielberg, Munich. Ari Folman's Dance with Bashir. Ismael Ferroukhi's Le Grand Voyage. Monty Python's Life of Brian.
2. Did you dream of joining the circus when you were just a wee kid?
Never.
3. Bollywood movies come with random dancing in the Swiss Alps. Where would you want to shoot a dance scene for the movie in your head?
Bollywood! *has distracted moment of love* I would shoot a scene in the Karakum Desert of Turkmenistan or in ancient Christian ruins in Syria or in the famed Lapis lazuli town of Sar-e-sang in northern Afghanistan.
4. If you found a class on how to make an urn to contain your own ashes, would you be tempted to take it?
No. (*creeped out*)
5. What’s your own personal version of hell? (IKEA on a Saturday afternoon is already taken, sorry.)
Trapped on the top floor of the KaDeWe in Berlin.

I actually must admit that Munich was one of the rare movies that made me leave the theatre halfway through - I was both bored and utterly turned off by the graphic violence. I don’t know. I think I spent too much time studying terrorism, and… No.

Also, you have definitely thought about that dancing scene, huh? That has to be the most detailed answer to that question!

Is the KaDeWe that bad? I mostly remember it as very, very sparkly…

Hi! I've begun lurking because you write awesome fanfic. Your bandom stuff is great, and I plan to read your Merlin story as soon as it's complete.

1. I'm afraid I'm no good at education. However, everyone should see Serenity, Rent, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Anastasia, and Star Wars. Reasons include story, characters, dancing, music, and cultural significance.

2. Huh. I don't remember. Nowadays I wish I had the skill for Cirque du Soleil.

3. These are very difficult questions. Umm, I think Jackson Square in New Orleans would be a good setting.

4. Definitely, though I wouldn't actually use the urn.

5. Being the last person on earth. This is why apocalyptic settings often freak me out.

Why thank you! And the Merlin story is… nearly done. I’m more than halfway done writing Chp. 8, and Chp. 7 should be posted tomorrow. So, yeah. *smiles*

1. We’re talking about the original Star Wars here, right? Not about the fashion series otherwise known as prequel?
2. Yes, me too. They do stunning stuff, and I’d love to even just see it one day. I don’t think my chances are too good, unfortunately.
5. I never really got the whole appeal of apocalyptic fanfic, to be honest. I find it far too terrifying to enjoy it. I mean, yeah, I do love me some alone time, but no one to talk to, ever? Or, like, not knowing what happened to anyone else? Brr.

I'm glad to hear about the Merlin story. I'm looking forward to it.

1. Definitely the original. I would not inflict the prequels on anyone.
2. I've had the good fortune to see two performances, and one of my life goals is to see more. They're amazing.
