Season 9 Speculation...
So electricmonk333 over on Tumblr posted this:
"There will be another early episode where
we flash back to the young boys - we’re going to see a part of Dean and a life experience for Dean that both the audience and Sam never really suspected. So we’re going to uncover a part of Dean we didn’t realize existed. It’ll be a very emotional episode for Dean." Jeremy Carver.

Sooooo. What do others think? I think all of the above has been 'suspected' by the entirety of fandom for years. Also...I can't really see the CW exploring the first two options...the others...maybe...but...not entirely 'unexpected'. Hmm. Does Carver really, honestly think they've come up with something that we 'never suspected'? Given how prolific fandom is, I'm struggling to believe it myself. But if so...what could that be?
Here are some of my guesses:
1. Dean was actually brilliant at school...until an angel went back in time and convinced him that Sam would die young unless he dropped out of school and dedicated himself to hunting. (Okay, many of us have long suspected that Dean is secretly brilliant, but the rest...)
2. Dean was so good at some sport that he had national scouts looking at him...and then he realized that this was a dream he couldn't pursue because of hunting and the need to stay under the radar, so when they next moved he never played that sport again.
Thoughts anyone?

- dean is revealed to have sexual relations with guys
- dean fell into a depression and tried to commit suicide after sam left for stanford
- we learn he was beaten by his father (wow really we already knew that)
- we learn that he actually fathered a kid when he was in his teens
