there you go splitting hairs on the gender thing again. ;P what is it about you university types, telling kids to write essays about the phallic symbolism of every rock and branch in some novella a hundred years ago, and yet we're not allowed to make sweeping pink-and-blue generalizations about men and women NOW?
anyway. telling someone about your blog over the internet is more like asking them out for coffee or to have a peak around your room. lets them get to know ya on a more personal basis, which is important in a format that can be anything but. telling someone face to face, on the other hand, is more like handing them a copy of your self-published novel; not because you want to know what they think, just 'cause y'know, they should read it. ;P
in any case, i'm profoundly grateful to have this record of myself, which sound so pompous i'm sure you can appreciate why i came at the issue with a bit of irony. that first journal entry in 2001 gives a more visceral reality to the 14-year-old kid who wrote it than the scars she left on my legs. and now you tell me my stupid little words can have the same effect on you?! but in a positive way? why professor, i think you've just taught me the meaning of History!
