Just got done playing through Mass Effect 1 and 2 in order to play 3 more betterest. I've played both like, a zillion... times, I don't know. I've logged more than a hundred hours just on 2. With so much repetition, there's some moments in both games that just have less impact because I've seen them so many times, but there's still some really good ones.
ME1
- Visions from the beacon. They creep me out.
- Galaxy Map.
- Seeing the Citadel for the first time. Gets to me every time.
- Hearing Sovereign speak on Virmire. Holy crap, my speakers.
- Seeing the massive scale of Sovereign on the Citadel Tower, surrounded by the lights of the Citadel's arms while you run around shooting geth.
- Confronting Saren on Virmire, Citadel
ME2
- Horizon and the Collector Ship, for the same reasons. Terrifying, creepy alien abduction. If a human is inside of a pod, you see a human-shaped silhouette, twitching, and it scares the bejeezus out of me.
- Scale of the interior of the Collector Ship. Hnngh.
- Mordin's entire plot arc. His loyalty mission is my favorite and I always save it for last. Well. Next to last, because Legion.
- Aaaand speaking of, Legion's story. I loved his loyalty mission and I wish we'd really had more time with him.
- Escaping the Collector Base (especially now that I know what all the "salvation from your destruction" stuff MEANS.
- The final scene with the Reapers drawing close to the Milky Way.
