Quinn's reaction to torture was a head-scratcher for sure. Not only did she take over but she scared Huck in the process! It goes to show how Scandal twists her everything, and Huck/Quinn was twisted from the beginning, I guess, considering the tactics he was teaching her, yet they found a way to make everything even darker. Ha! I don't know I guess deep down she always a little nefarious.
I'm all for Jake/Olivia.. I like the Fitz thing only because they have chemistry, otherwise their relationship is too sick to fathom. How weird is that? lol But it's true. And Jake/Olivia is messy as well, but Fitz being married is an absolute deal breaker and Mellie is clearly not going anywhere so I'm fine with the show exploring other relationships. I just hope Jake doesn't have to be flirting with Olivia or dating her to have a place in the story because I enjoy the character regardless.
Liv came to an important realization at the end of this episode, I loved the part when she realized that she pushed her team too far on this one, the fact that she asked Huck to torture Charlie not once but twice so she could save Fitz, not to mention ruined a one time friend's career and essentially the man's life (brilliant way he got it back though) and had another associate break up Abby and David because their romance was getting too serious and they were about to uncover Defiance.
She had to come to her senses sooner or later. The damage is done but at least she gained some perspective. She was so lost in the Washington game she forgot her people were risking absolutely everything for the outrageous cover up of her mistakes. I loved her wearing the white hat again for a moment. Hee. It's a great motif because it's part of Olivia's self-deception and also goes to show that everyone is so crooked that Olivia is able to consider herself a part-time white hat. lol
Hi, sorry I haven't gotten back to your replies sooner but I haven't been on my computer for a while.
I'm still scratching my head on the whole Quinn torture thing the reaction was so in left field I sort of put it in my doesn't exist pile until they make it right or at least make it make sense...
I have to admit that I'm sort of Jake/Liv shipping right now, Fitz and Liv have great chemistry but so do her and Jake not to mention Fitz is married and he is completely toxic for Liv. There relationship is sick like you said. I think the fact that he said he 'forgave' her for sleeping with Jake when he was not in a relationship with Liv (she'd broken up with him) at the time was a perfect example, in Fitz mind it was never over, and to a certain extent she belongs to him in his mind.
Jake is now one of my new faves on the show I hope the writers write and don't listen to the fans on this one. And yes, Jake is a great character and doesn't need to be a third line in a love triangle. I hate love triangles and I like Jake too much to want to see him put in one.
Yes, everyone on the show is crooked, Liv as much as everyone else, her motives are just a little purer, I think the only one who has any perspective on that one is Huck, because he knows that there are circles within circles and the moral compasses change depending on which one you're standing in.
