YEAH....

I stopped by my professors office after meeting with my advisor to find out when we were getting our grades for the debate. She said she actually had them just wasn't sure if she should wait until all the teams have gone or give them out. She stated that by giving them out, it provided the teams who haven't gone an advantage. But, after she debated it out, she finally said, I will give you yours. I received a 92/100 on the debate, which I am very happy with since this was my first debate. I received a 75/75 on my written paper for my side of the debate, which I am more than thrilled about. So, overall, taking the two grades for the debate, I received a 95%.

I did vote this morning - I AM SO GRATEFUL ELECTION DAY HAS FINALLY ARRIVED! No more door hangings (we've gotten enough of them that probably a 25 year old tree was destroyed), no more phone calls (yesterday alone we had 6 messages), and finally no more "And I am ________, and I approve this message" every fuckin commercial.

The line wasn't terrible, we arrived at 6:50 the polls opened at 7. We were out of there by 7:15. Although K was late to work. Can I just say, I like our voting machines in Allentown. They are touch screen computers. You really can't fuck it up or have any hanging chads, or not push a button down firmly enough. All you really can't forget to do is touch the button that says "cast my ballot". And even still, the card reader you have won't eject until you touch that button. So, thinking about this, either polls are stating that people in Allentown are really stupid and need a idiot proof device, or that we are really smart and should be able to figure out the idiot proof device. Which I can't figure out why so many people before us were calling volunteers over for help.

Seriously, after you sign in you are handed a card. When the next machine opens up and you approach the machine, it kind of reminds you of an ATM device, it really says "insert card here" with an arrow. Than all the candidates pop up and you do have a choice to vote straight dem or rep, than all you need to touch is cast ballot. How easy is that?

So, as I am typing I had another knock on the door to hand out another door hanger to get people out to vote.

school, voting
