Holy crap.
Just submitted a short story to a magazine for publication.
It will almost definitely be rejected, but that's fine (I say now). This is a huge step. This is overcoming my terror of letting other people read my work. This is progress. I'll get there.
I found a list of California-based literary magazines, and I'm going to keep writing and submitting. So help me, I WILL get published.
