So yeah I haven't posted in over a month. Things have been really nutty at my parents' house and I have thought about writing in my journal, but haven't taken the time. So, here I am writing now posting a catch-up of the holidays and college packing. Where to start...
I am also inaugurating the new year with this post, since I haven't posted since before Christmas.
Before I left town I wanted to play Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time in full. Fortunately, my friend Byteblaster bought it so I could play it all the way through before I moved, and I went to his place 3 times to finish it. I got to play ACIT on an HD projector and 5.1 surround sound, so I got the best experience possible for playing Ratchet & Clank. A Crack in Time is nothing short of epic, heroic, and magical. It is by far the best Ratchet & Clank game I have played, and the most remarkable story I have seen in a video game to date.
Packing went well; I packed my computer and everything on my desk the Friday before my move. I had everything I was taking with me in the vehicle packed by Sunday afternoon, even with going to church. I left Monday morning and after a 2 1/2 hour road trip, arrived and moved into my room. I have a roommate and thankfully we get along. Every week seems to be so hectic I don't have much time to think about things save for late at night and on the weekends.
Every week is classes from 10-3 or 10-4, depending on what day of the week it is. It is fortunate that within two weeks of school I made some excellent friends, and I hang out with them nearly every day. One actually said that is one good thing about LSTC; one makes friends quickly. Heck, I'm amazed how quickly I'm making friends with folks in college. I am also enjoying living away from home and being on my own for the first time in my life; it's a blessing and a curse, being that it's wondeful that I get to govern myself in full, but neglect and procrastination can lead to some nasty consequences. I have an essay due and a math test tomorrow and I'm not fully prepared for either.
I went home to visit my parents and to get some R&R in the hometown two weeks ago, and enjoyed it. I will be going back on the next 3 day weekend to run around town and chillax. Fortunately one of the friends I have made has a vehicle and is willing to do the 2 hour drive back to St Louis for a weekend. College has kept me busy, entertained, and out of trouble. The rest of college as I work toward my degree will be full of learning and friendship, with more and more to come. It has allowed for massive personal and emotional growth that I would not have had still living at home. I am enjoying college life, and look forward to pressing on in my life.
