Getting up this morning almost didn't happen. As it was, I ended up taking the car to work in order to get there on time. Ooops. Possibly shouldn't have watched Independence Day last night. Work was OK, though time seemd to drag. Never does that when you are watching crap on the telly, does it? Bah,
On Saturday morning we got up around half nine, wandered around the flat and independently thought that, as it was such a nice sunny day, and the last weekend of freedom, it would be nice to take Viggy out for a run. Then we realised that
f4f3 and
unblinkered may yet still be at the cottage, and maybe we could go for a visit. A quick post on FB and, sortly after, a phone conversation, we packedd our bag and headed off to the wild west. After a quick stop off at the Rest and Be Thankful, and an expensive pop into both Loch Fyne Oyster Bar and the Inverary Whisky Shop, we ended up by Loch Gilp for the weekend, which comprised of much good food, a small libation or two and some walking of the pooch. A nice way to round off the holiday season.
I now have a pot of soup on the go, and the makings of dinner ready to go. I am not going for the full on new year diet, but I'm hoping to get back into having proper meals rather than just quick fix pasta or pizza. Can't go on a diet anyway. What would we do with all this gingerbread, cookies and the chocolate mountain. To say nothing of the beer stash of doom.
