junjunshi asked me to repost her thoughts on the protests surrounding the Olympic torch relay protests over Tibet and other problems related to China.

Personally, I think it's interesting to get the perspective of someone from China. I am not really in a position to agree or disagree about the core issue (read: I don't know enough about the historical context), but I do have to agree the news coverage here is heavily tilted in favor of the protesters. There is a large section of the US that seems to be sinophobic, and that seems to carry over to most of the reporting on Chinese issues, it seems to me.
