Marcel was ROBBED!!! It makes absolutely no sense for them to pick Ilan. He is in no way more mature than Marcel. Not when it comes to cooking and especially not when it comes down to conduct. I'm very pissed! Ilan is the last person I wanted to win this. And why did Marcel pick Michael of all people?!
Yeah, Frank was definitely the better choice. there. Michael didn't really have anything to contribute.. Maybe it was just because Marcel had the least friction with Michael throughout the show.
Marcel *does* still have a lot to learn. He could've been more organized, for example. & is is a bit immature. Not that Ilan was being any more mature than him outside of the kitchen...
I'm surprised that Sam didn't make it... at that point it was apparent that the producers had something to do with it. It had been anyway, through most of this season (seeing as how they were concentrating on the drama, and even creating situations this season). I kept feeling like I was missing something with Marcel being picked on so much... I mean, besides a few minor immaturities, I didn't see him doing anything *that* bad. AND he took his lumps and carried on, didn't stoop to their level... he was always about the food, and I had to respect him for that.
& wtf was up with Elia turning on Marcel in the final two shows? I was so absolutely annoyed by everyone always picking on him, and she was his only friend through most of it.
Yeah, by the last few episodes, I disliked all of them, and hoped they would get to the finale and be all, "yeah, so, NONE of you are Top Chef. Suck on it."
My choice (up until the last two shows) was Elia. Her and Sam are both consistently good and professional in the kitchen. It really irritated me when Elia turned on Marcel. Up until then I respected her for just staying away from the melodrama! Now I think that Sam should have won. I agree with you that I smelled something fishy when they got rid of Sam and Elia. Isn't it just to convenient that the two arch nemeses get to duke it out? I wonder what Ilan is going to do with his money? Oh yeah open a restaurant just like the one he works at. I really want to go to NY and kick his ass in a back alley. Ilan's actions reminded me of the child who, when getting attention, has NO idea when to stop. Sam, when he wasn't in the kitchen, was the bully who knew when to reign it in, Ilan was his toadie who, when he realized his friends would back him up, didn't have the sense to know when things had gone too far. Just my opinion!! As you can tell I'm pretty steamed about it still. :)
