Delia- All in a nights work

Delia pulled the Charger into the garage carefully, making sure she was as straight as possible.  She readjusted the mirror to Collin's eye level and pushed the seat back all the way.  It always made him nervous for her to drive it.
She quietly opened the side door and headed in.  The house was dark with the flickering of the television being the only source of light.  Eerie music filled the house as she walked towards the front room.  Collin was lounged across the coach looking intently at the television.  Her slight movement forward gained his attention.  Softly he put his fingers to his lips and then pointed to the floor.  Curled up against a mountain of  pillows, Mara had fallen asleep.  Delia carefully grabbed a throw blanket and spread it across her sister and kissed her on the head.  Looking up at the TV, she realized they were in the middle of Hellraiser.

Rolling her eyes, she headed for Collin and gave him a quick peck on the lips.  "I am beat, I will talk to you in the morning."  She tried her best to hide her extreme exhaustion.

Collin, while distracted "Was it a good night?" She gave him a weak smile. "Alright Sweet Dreams" he finished and returned to his movie.

Quickly she changed into her favorite pajamas and curled up under the covers.  Delia could still hear the haunting music and muffled screams.  Why could she charge into the the horrors of her reality but couldn't stand to watch fictional movies?  Revisiting the image of the spiritual warfare that occurred that even spun through her head.  Yes she was scared shitless, and was very reckless but at no point did she feel totally out of control.  Maybe that was the key, she was not a victim in her horror reality but a player in it.  The thought of being the vulnerable actress in the dark attic made her sick to her stomach.  That must never be her.
