Unconventional Patchwork

Today was an errand run around day. Since we live in the woods and with the price of gas lately, $2.25/gal, we try to make at least one day a busy out day.

Now, for some odd reason, I was not allowed to leave the house before 2 p.m. The weather was cold, misty and damp with morning, so I planned on wearing my wonderful handpainted Iris sweatshirt. Take the shower, get ready and get dressed. Went out to the truck and put the purse in and decided that it was too warm. Go back in and change clothes. OK. Go out to the shop and pick up the checkbook and phone and realize that I forgot my outgoing mail. Back in the house. OK. Go back out to the shop to kiss HB and pick up the OTHER checkbook. As I get into the truck I rip my pants, a new thigh seam. All the rest of my pants are in the wash at that moment. OK. Go get the purple duct tape and repair pants. It is now 2 p.m.

It has taken me about 1/2 an hour just to GET IN the truck! Luckily, everything else went fine, no accidents, no problems, no hang ups. I did, however, get a number of laughs with my clever patch job. (Making people laugh is a thing I like to do! I could have used my blue duct tape, but what fun is that?) *giggle*

Let this be an example to you all....every woman should have her own roll of purple duct tape!!! OR red, or blue, or yellow....my next roll will be camouflage!
