ALOHA!!!
I'm back from the great Hawaiian adventure. This is temporary though, as I will be returning.
The Army has seen it to be within its best interest to send me on yet another adventure. This one is slightly different as there will be an actual training portion of it. This is not actually training for a job, but training in order to create and maintain a skill. For the next several months I will be in the nation's capital region learning the language Dari.
Dari is one of the two official languages of Afghanistan. To a certain degree of proficiency I will learn to speak, read, and write in Dari. Right now, this is my only job. No distraction based on outside work. Also, I am in the DC Metro area alone. This means that all the time that I would gladly spend on them, I will shift over to learning (and the occasional blog).
Just so you do not think this is all work and no play, please know that I have decided to learn to play. I have brought my ukulele and guitar with me to practice practice practice. I think it will be good to stretch the mind.
