So, I post about not posting, and all of a sudden I have something to post.
I finally went up to the top floor of the building, that's the 24th Floor to all of you. The stairwell led further up so up I went. I was not able to get out on the roof to take pictures of sunset, but fortunately there is a West facing window that I was able to use.
After taking a few pictures I got on the elevator to return to the 10th floor. I went down a grand total of one (1) floor before the next passenger walked into the elevator. It was a Korean woman with a hand fan.
She said hi. I said hi. I mentioned that the weather was very hot.
INTERLUDE - Yes, I mentioned the weather. When there is a monitor screen in the elevator, and the most frequently run advertisement is a maxi-pad ad, you find something else to mention to the random woman that you meet for the first time. END INTERLUDE
She said that it was very hot, then asked me if I was in the Army. I said that I was. While I was wearing a normal pair of slacks, I was also wearing my tan Army T-shirt, so I thought that was what tipped her off that the bald, black, American, down the block from the big US Army base, was a Soldier.
No, that wasn't it. She looked directly at my chest and shoulders and said I had a lot of muscles.
I SOOOOOOOOOO resisted the urge to flex and preen like the Y-Chromosome primate I'm not.
She was gone 15 seconds later, but the ego was still stroked. Ain't life interesting.
