My Second Mac
After two weeks of Mac-dom I have purchased my second MacBook Pro. It helped that I returned my first MacBook Pro so it did not cost me any additional money (just 8hrs of my day).
The stupid "1" key snapped off. Must have been a faulty part from the beginning as I did not put any undue pressure on it. I just pressed for the second or third time that day and SNAP, one less key. Nice handy English speaking Apple store that I can walk into? NO. I would have to send the computer to Apple. Allow them approximately 1 1/2 weeks to replace the key, and then wait for the computer to return.
Or, there was option B. I called down south to Osan Air Base BX, told them to place one of the two remaining MacBook Pros on hold, got on a bus (while saying goodbye to the plans made with the family), took the hour and a half trip, spent 5 minutes exchanging computers, and then waited 3 1/2 hours for the bus back to Seoul.
Now all I have to do is re-install everything, update everything, not erase my iPod Touch in a bad way, and pray that it takes less than 24hrs to get it done.
Ah well. That's the price of expensive toys, right?
