2) So I've finally been upgraded from "glorified proofreader and office bitch" to being finally given jobs that fit with the job title. Which is cool, but my first actual editing assignment is for a textbook tender has a schedule so tight that it already looks impossible on paper, and that's not the only project I'm handling. We've been keeping late nights, and my team is anticipating having to sleep over at the office at some point. Overtime pay? What overtime pay?
The office is closed for the Chinese New Year holidays, so the good news is that I get spend the long weekend slogging it out at home. Woo hoo. This feels like uni again, except this time I've got a job on the line.
Oh, I really shouldn't complain too much. There are far worse jobs I could have been doing. I feel pretty out of my depth sometimes, but I want to make this work.
