Trying to distract myself from the fact that the semester starts next week
Went into Johor, Malaysia, which is just a little north of Singapore (less than an hour away) with Na'im, Yus, Nas, Zuraimi and Amirah. Bought a pretty dress that I have no confidence in pulling off, ate too much, completely failed to blend in with the locals despite being Malay as well, visited a petting zoo (which was actually kind of depressing because of all the cages but aaah otters are so cute), and blew more money on the theme park. But that was okay.
Because bumper cars are awesome. So awesome we went twice.
Even if I had to use my leg left to step on the accelerator pedal, which was on the right end, because after the first couple of collisions I had brief image of explaining to the doc that a strong impact had damaged my ligament graft while skirting around exactly how that impact had come about...sigh. It was a little awkward, but I still managed to be in as much control as these things allow and initiate some crazy chain collisions. And that moment when we all managed to crash into each other in the middle was hilarious. Also, the place was pretty empty so we had that ride to ourselves and of course it became a no-holds-barred affair. So cool.
I remember being on a bumper car ride once when I was a kid and hating it because of how much I got thrown around. But I guess now that I weigh more and would be less likely to get flung out of my seat it became fun instead of scary.
Actually, even if I did get flung out of my seat I was have just laughed my ass off. That's how much fun it was.
