It was a nice day, all things considered. A warm, clear day. The sky was a pleasant blue, almost devoid of clouds. Were it not for the earthquake, one could say it was a perfect day for relaxing. Unfortunately for Zanik, who decided to spend this afternoon doing just that, it was awfully hard to ignore the tremor.
The man stood as the shaking died down, sighing as he picked up broken glass and fallen chairs. 'Atleast the house is sturdy', he would think. He smiled a little as another thought struck him. 'Atleast I'm the only one home right now.' He had to admit, knowing Labrae and Beth were both safe and sound elsewhere eased his mind. "Atleast it was just a small one," he dared to say aloud.
Something was wrong. He flinched, but it was too late. The ground erupted in thunderous shaking, furniture crashing all around him, pictures falling from walls, flower vases shattering as they hit the ground. He barely had time to think before the ground heaved under his feet and the floor quickly rushed over to greet him.
Thud.
And all went black.
