Testing, testing...

'Cause I had to re-download the client I usually use to post entries. Okay, I'm back for a bit. The computer issues actually got resolved a couple weeks or so ago, but--as usual--I got busy and almost forgot this journal was here. But for a change, that is the good news. We'll get back to that, though. First off: the aforementioned computer issues. That cheap harddrive Dad found for me online? Turns out it's got over three times the space my old one had, and it works better. \o/ Score! So we are golden on the computer front.

This all happened while I was sick as a dog, mind. So immediately after the computer situation got fixed, while I was still sick, I had to go back to work. NOT fun, and it did not go well. The first day I barely made it, the second day I had to go home early, but by the third day I was on the road to "back to normal." Needless to say, I'm healthy by now. Following that was the new ritual of hideously bad schedules that for some reason I just can't seem to get into the swing of. On the good news front, I've been writing like a fiend--don't know if I mentioned that in my last post or not--and today I have time to do some typing. Also, the new Star Trek movie is just oh my god, fuck yes. I want to write about that movie. More, I mean. I want to write more.

Now, on to the really important stuff: for the first time since--wait, how long has it been? When did I do that huge drabble request entry? Hang on a minute.
...
March of 2008, that's when it was. For the first time since March of last damn year, I'm going on an honest-to-God vacation. Using vacation time to move this time last year just does not count. Starting June 27th and going for at least a week, maybe for the full time, I will not have internet access, so consider this me scheduling a disappearance. Mom and I are going on a sort of road trip. We'll be going to Busch Gardens and Sea World and just kinda meandering there and back. Apparently I've been to both places before, but I was so young that all I remember was this giant parrot perching on my arm at Sea World. *laughs* It'll be fun. We'll be back with time to spare for me to get out of town for a night or two on my own. What with one thing and another, I almost never leave Pensacola just like I almost never left Mobile. Sounds corny, but it's bad for my mental equilibrium if I don't get time away and time to myself once in a while.

Anyway, that's the scoop. Now I have to go find some new icons and type some fics.

just saying hi
