Bad news
There was going to be a post tonight, with a meme and a review of Wolverine and babbling about my new books. But my computer has died, so that's not going to happen. I'm currently using the spare laptop that no one uses because it's crappy and missing bits. Before Dad gave it to me, he said--and I quote, "The screen may go blank, but it's just kidding." Also, neither the delete key nor the arrow keys are functioning, so far as I can tell. And that's the one that works. Mine, if I'm understanding his explanation, can't find the harddrive. Or the operating system. One or the other. In addition, it's not hitting the CD drive long enough to boot from the reinstall CD. I had to dump pretty much my entire computer onto the server...maybe a month ago? Maybe more? And I backed up everything again about a week, week and a half later, but I don't think I've done it since. So I've got all my data--fics included--from approximately a month ago. Fortunately, I've been mostly writing in my notebook in that time, so I don't think I've lost much. Some breeding records for my dragons, a few mp3s, but that's (hopefully) it. I haven't done any major in-file revisions lately, thank god. The last two Saiyuki fics went straight from the notebooks to the file to posting, and the last one before that was a TZC fic, which I still have. I'm missing a few passwords, but I can get those back. It could be worse. It's still a nightmare, pretty much, because I don't know if we're going to be able to get my computer back or anything, but it could be worse. I don't know how much I'll be around till this is solved, but I'll try to keep y'all posted. Sorry. That's all I've got to say tonight.
