Okay, I said I was going to just edit that Death Gods draft and change the access level, but I changed my mind. I'm going to keep the f-locked draft and repost this final public version. Oooooh, this is lovely. *hugs Ichigo and Conan* I can easily see this happening, given the characters and extrapolation from Canon. And of course, dead Shinichi WOULD be Shinichi again...

*big grin* Glad you like it, 'cause if it's stuck around this long, then you can bet that this series is going precisely nowhere until I write it. I'm also glad--and more relieved than I can properly express--that the characters rang true.

Here's the interesting bit that I think stayed mostly behind the scenes: Shinichi in this story has already given up so much of Shinichi to Conan that even when he was dead and Conan was effectively gone, he still flip-flopped. This series isn't coming to me in anything like chronological order and I have NO idea where this fic fits on the timeline, so I don't know if I'll be making any more of that. Still. Interesting. How much of "Shinichi" is really Shinichi, even in canon, I wonder?

*grins* I love questions of identity. Obviously "Kudo Shinichi" as we saw him in the opening case no longer exists, IMO. What's left is a sharper, harder, pared-down core that "Conan" has been wrapped around. I DO address this in Four Kings, *kicks stalled fic* for which questions and issues of identity and DID are central. "Shinichi" at this point is the internal personality, less all the social coping devices that "Conan" uses to get along in his life.

Aww, dance with me! Never resist the urge to dance! You should've heard the squee when I heard this would be Meitantei Conan and Bleach, I've been looking forward to this since the night before then.

Maa...Detective Conan and Bleach. Two series that I always love reading crossovers for.
This story though does make me wonder just how Conan knows about Ichigo being a shinigami. Still, I do hope I will be reading more of this series soon. (There is a draft under your f-list? I wanna read it!)
Nice interaction between Ichigo and Conan by the way!

*finally crawls out of a hole to answer comments* Sorry, it's been a long few weeks. You wanna see the draft? *friends* Go right ahead! It's the entry right before this one.

The story where Conan and Ichigo meet (and where Conan learns about shinigami) is about half-plotted and not at all written. This series refuses to go from start to finish for me. I'll get there, though. The idea's been stuck in my head for months, so I'm definitely writing it sometime.

Anyway, I'm glad you liked this one!

*blink blink* Ooh... Now I want to read more. Like, uh, how did they get to know each other? Was Conan always able to see Shinigami, or did something happen...?

Anyway, nice story, keep it up and get the next bit out quick.

Sorry about not replying sooner, I got a bit caught up in other stuff.

*laughs* There's more. Granted, neither the next bit or the first bit (chronologically speaking) are likely come out next, but we'll see how it goes. I have plans. We'll ignore for the moment how many times on how many different fics/series I've said that. ;D For Death Gods? It'll get done.
