Squee! I see what you mean about it feeling unfinished, but the heart of it is quite lovely... I love Kaito/Shinichi interaction, whether friendship, romance, or just rivalry. They're such perfect counterweights...

...Unfinished? Hmmm, maybe that's it. *thinking "out loud"* I can't do Conan's POV for this particular scene--well, I could, but I don't think...no, wouldn't work as well. Perhaps Conan's POV of the last scene on the roller coaster, or something. *tosses ideas to the muses to ferment*

I'm glad you liked it, warts and all. *smiles* It's kind of a toss up right now whether I'm more obsessed with Kaito/Shinichi interaction or Hattori/Shinichi interaction. I seem to have fallen in love with both of them.

For me, 'unfinished' also can mean 'unpolished.' basically there's just something there that isn't RIGHT yet, and you can't poke it into shape.

I love the interaction with all the boys, to be honest. Getting the four of them in one place and poking at them is SO much fun. Four Kings spends a HUGE amount of time doing that... Now if I could just get the damn scene with the revelations to start moving.

Err...this is the poked version. The only way to poke more would be a full overhaul and that's a definite no. Too much else on the plate. Unless, of course, the muses decide to take to this scene again. It's not without precedent.

Okay. I'll bite. Is any of Four Kings posted and, if so, where do I find it? I don't recall seeing that series name attached to any of your DC stuff, but I've got a notoriously bad memory. And YES to throwing the boys together and poking. *grin* Not that getting them all in one place guarantees any level of cooperation on their part...

♥ So much awesome packed into so few paragraphs. You touch on all the best bits of that odd closeness that nobody can really quantify but everyone spins into something, and do it so gently and deftly that all we need is this one glimpse to do the rest ourselves.

This is just so, so beautiful. And poignant. Like stated above by the other reviewers, you really captured that odd special thing about them. They're not sentimental kind of people ( well, not on the surface, at least. Conan has weakness for tears whether he wants to admit it or not), so it's really hard to do a fic like these (to be both heartfelt and true to the characters),but you managed it.

*smiles* Thank you, glad you liked it. That was the hardest thing about this--Kaito wouldn't play ball unless I got the balance of reflective and distant just right. It took a lot of trial and error.

*laughs* It's funny, but the thing Kaito-in-my-head was most indignant about was that Conan got thrown off the bridge when he wasn't supposed to. "Hey! I'm the one that jumps off tall things, leave him on the ground!" *shakes head* Those two muses are gonna be the death of me, I just know it...

Off-topic, but I absolutely love those two icons you're using. Are they gankable and where did you get them?

I told everyone that IMO, movie 10 was the most blatant Kaito-Conan fest ever (movie 8 won easily for snarkitude though). The bridge rescue, the contemplative look Conan gets into after learning of Kid's assasins, that smile at the end of the movie. Just love. I only object to the cutting of the (imaginary) scene of him giving Conan the mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. I don't care if Conan doesn't need it. There should have been such scene. XD

Thanks! I made the K/C icon myself; absolutely gankable. ^^ The blue-ish Kaito one ( my favorite!) was taken from darkenedsakura's icon journal. I believe it's absolution_sky. So you could credit either her main journal or the icon journal. They are free to take with credit, I guess, since she posted them on conan_icons and other public communities.

Conan...naive...does not compute. You're right, though, he needs all the allies he can get, and some. The way he gets into trouble...it doesn't hurt to be prepared. I'm glad you liked it.
