Saiyuki drabble repost

"Hakkai would rather bite his own tongue out and choke on it than betray me."

The words turned to dust in Sanzo's mouth, just like all the other words he's said and hasn't believed. Hakkai would not choose death over betrayal, not for him. Maybe not for anyone. No one was that stupid. And, if by some chance he was, he might as well choke on his ( Read more... )

I still love the one I prompted you for. *grin* Especially that last line.

"Sake" is a beautiful, fat gem of a piece. I love how each aspect is covered and how they all end up. I especially liked the variations on all the points, and how Hakkai ends up with breakfast duty and when he just ditches on it.

HA! A G-rated Sanzo/Gojyo!! *laughter* And I love the argument and how Hakkai deals with it, smiling.

The body language in "Hold Me Back" is achingly bittersweet. I love the repeat of the same question meaning something so different. Very, very nicely written.

"Going Home" -- I'm always a sucker for Goku's release by Sanzo, every single time.

I think yours set the tone for all the Saiyuki pieces that followed it. They'd have had a different balance, a different feel to the relationships if the first one was, say, a crack fic. (I still love it, too ( ... )

Interesting... I was going to say that they seemed to balance on the same point... it's interesting to read that you felt that way, too.

Yeah, to the last, it surprised me, too, as I had that dream with the all too possibly threatening hand resting over that pulse, that life, and finally resolving something deep... I actually hadn't remembered that in the Raph drabbles. And sometimes with these Shonen guys it just has to come down to that level of meaning.

I'm glad that you're bent the same way to be able to channel these guys. Whew...

Interesting is right. *laughs* Good thing they don't charge to use that word, I'd be in trouble. Seriously, though, I thought it was just me. I've naturally got a different viewpoint on, well, everything I write. I tend to assume that whatever I think of it is mostly rooted in that ( ... )

Beautifully written series of drabbles. All three were extremely poignant and I loved the last line in "Will You Betray Me", but I would have to say if forced to choose, "Sake" would be my favorite. It's so very heartbreakingly real.

Thank you, glad you liked them! "Will You Betray Me?" was the drabble that woke the Sanzo muse, and he brought all the rest of the Saiyuki muses with him. So, that drabble really set the tone for the rest of them.

"Sake"...that one surprised me. Hakkai/Gojyo isn't one of my strengths and I didn't have any idea what I was going to write when I started it. It turned out to be one of the best.

Oooohh, Sake was definitely my favourite - very introspective and revealing of how those two interact. Going home was also poignantly sweet, and had a hell of a last line! ^__^

Sake seems to be everyone's favorite, which kind of surprises me. It's the one I was least sure of when I wrote it.

The last line in Going Home just kind of snuck in there, because I love Sanzo releasing Goku. Sooner or later, I hope to write about that, the muses just aren't cooperating yet. Thanks for reading and commenting!
