After helping Greg and Rick put out roundbales, I went to fill water. Well of course, Rick forgot to drain the hoses AGAIN. Oh well.
I *was* going to lounge Cisco but he decided to run away from me and I didn't feel like dealing with that lump of trouble. I feel warm breath on my shoulder and turn to see Zippy. This is how the conversation went:
ZOMG hai! Hai, I love you. Please to be coming in?
Zippy. I need to lounge Cisco
But pleeeeeaaaaseee?
waits a beat
Zippy proceeds to shove his little black nose in Cisco's halter.
Alright fine.
Yippee!!!!!!
Seriously, that horse is so fricken adorable. I brought him and stripped him down to groom him. Rick came in and was petting him and was like, you know. Motorbikes are so much better(Greg had one in the back of the truck) you don't have to feed them or clean up after them. I wouldn't take one of these horses if you gave it too me. But if I had to, I'd be Zippy. He's pretty relaxed. I like him.
I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. Rick? Grumpy, dirty old man? Admitting for once he likes the horses(other than Henry)?! Well butter my ass and call me a biscuit.
He was fairly tense and worried in the cross ties[mostly because his mom, who we lovingly refer to as whine-ass and is anal about everything]. I do however think he's back sore. His tail was clamped RIGHT down and he didn't want to be curried if the world depended on it. Poor guy. By the end though, he was calm and just about falling asleep. Aaaaand he was gleaming! lol. I put him back out and he was all snuffly and lovey.
When we put out new bales, we throw the horses hay down the fenceline to distract them. Well the minute a new bale is put out, every one of the geldings runs over and begins to demolish it. Except for Captain(or rather Ginny). He's walking along finishing off the flakes that were thrown and consequently abandoned. Smart boy :-)
I'm here for a little bit, and then back to Shepherd. I'm working with Julie. It's fricking cold. Who wants ice cream? oh well.
