Photo Inspiration Challenge
Hi everyone, this is my first post here in the community and I hope this is okay. I'm issuing a challenge for all fanfiction writers. If this is not allowed or if I did something wrong, please tell me and I'll fix it. I don't want to break any rules.
I found some of photos of Niall Matter today while surfing the web, and they really stood out to me. I propose that they be the inspiration for a fanfiction. The photos and further details are inside.
These photos contain graphic material (gore, not sexual) so if you aren't comfortable with that, don't click. Some of them are worse than others, but I suppose that's in the eye of the beholder, so click at your own discretion.
From what I understand, these are stills from a canceled NBC TV series called Fear Itself. It was filmed mostly in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, which happens to be where Niall Matter was born. I've never heard of the show, and I only found the pictures by chance. These are from the episode "New Year's Day", one of four (according to IMDB) that Niall Matter would be in. The other three episodes were included in those canceled, I think. Anyway, here are the photos:

These would have been perfect for Halloween, huh? Oh well.
So here's my challenge. Take these photos and explain them, in the fandom of Eureka, in a fanfiction. "New Year's Day" is about zombies, so you could make it about Zane turning into a zombie, but you don't have to go there. You could say he goes on a murderous, cannibalistic spree because of some experiment gone wrong. You could make it someone's horrible nightmare. You could turn it around and say that Zane was in some kind of fight or attack and is covered in blood from defending himself. You could do a number of things. Just explain the images. Whose hand is he carrying? Whose remains is he passing? Who's the dead guy on the ground? Whose blood is all over him, and how did it get there? And why in the world is he wearing a tie?
You don't have to incorporate every picture into your fic. You can choose just one if you want, or pick and choose any number of them. I'm just trying to see what you can come up with. Just be sure to say which photo(s) you used for inspiration in your author's note or something. (I numbered them for your convenience.)
My only restriction is this: please don't explain these away lightly. Yes, you easily could write that he's in a play or it's a Halloween costume, but that's not what I'm looking for. These are pretty dark images for Eureka (if we pretend that they're Zane and not the character in the episode) and I want to see what you can do. Eureka is a light series most of the time, but I'm really interested in how you guys can use these to make it darker.
Okay? That's it. I hope this is allowed--the rules say Niall Matter stuff is okay, and these are related to him. But tell me if this isn't okay. I don't want to disrespect anyone.

P.S. On an interesting side note, Colin Ferguson (Jack Carter) and Sonja Bennett (Callie Curie, the dry-cleaning lady) star in two more different episodes of Fear Itself.
