"To the Rescue" - Dreams

Last night I slept fairly well after I could get my blankets right to regulate my temperature. My window was letting in more cold than usual. Anyhow, during this sleep I had a particularly vivid dream that didn't include any of my fandoms for once.

It started out with a party on an island, not a huge island, just big enough for a sort of school type building, but it was old and muted colors and not that great, but we were outside for the most part so that was good. there was a carnival section and a sort of art and crafts section. The night was wrapping up and there was this sound, sort of like a bell or siren indicating it was time to leave, but some of my stuff and Jordan's had blown over a few feet. I went to get them and this net thing came up and it wasn't climeable, so I told them to head back and I'd find another way around.

I moved through the building, only to learn slowly that it was being controlled by an oppressive regime. Some sections had tanks and vehicles and weapons, others had electronics of war, some had drugged out zombie soldiers on the carnival rides. Every time I made it through a section, the regime got more pissed off that I had seen too much. I was eventually on the run for my life. I had narrowly missed capture and made it into some old office and locked up tight, knowing that the windows meant I was close to the outside of the building and near the far side.

There was a voice at the door, and it was John. He'd eluded capture and used some pretty smart techniques to come and find me. The techniques were spelled out in the dream but they faded as I woke up. I think part of it was that he'd been listening to the security reports and was able to deduce which actions were mine. Anyhow, once there we were able to work together and effect our escape. It was really nice that John so competently came to my rescue.

So I suppose the moral of that dream is never go to a party on the island compound of an oppressive regime.
