"Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" thoughts

I just finished playing both "Star Wars: Force Unleashed" games.

I got both games on sale for $5 each on steam, which isn't a bad price.

Force Unleashed 1 was 30 gigs and the second was 6 merely because they didn't compress the first one. I recorded cutscenes from both games that will advance Chronicles, but Force Unleashed 2 managed to give my lots of immerse backgrounds that I can use in Chronicles with the green screen map.

My final analysis is that FU2 was a far better game. It plays better on the computer hardware, it has way more story in the levels rather than relying completely on cutscenes, it has several types of missions. The only major downside is the counter intuitive force combos, but even the menu system is better so it works better.

I will say that they are short. Both of them combined is about half the length of game play as Jedi Academy, and almost a third of Outcast. I wish they had multiplayer, that would have been neat.

Force Unleashed 1 did a better job sticking to canon, I can see why Michael thought FU2 didn't fit at all... though I posted this review on LJ because I'm pretty sure he'll disagree with my assessment. I already figured out that he ignored part of the plot of FU2 and then was confused when Yoda showed up, lol. To each their own.

I don't regret playing them at all, and they have level selects so I can go back. I suck as a gamer at most things, but I didn't use any cheats or anything in these games... It seems like if I know the franchise (Star Trek, Star Wars) or am lucky (Borderlands) I can keep up with other gamers despite lacking core skills.

Oh, and Juno blinks in both PC versions ;)
