I never in a million years thought I'd say 'wow' to sports photography. But those are just lovely. The third shot in particular just... engages me.

Me too! Thank you. And wow... I think this is like the 2nd time you've commented in my LJ in the last 3 years! lol

I, on the other hand, am a HUGE FUCKING BASEBALL FAN, even if the M's aren't my team - and these shots utterly rock.

The first one is...spectacular.

These photos just rock, and for some unknown reason it never occurred to me that you could get that quick a shutter speed on a digital camera. But the light and clarity are beautiful. Perhaps you have missed a calling. Are you sure you wouldn't want a career that would have you at lots of sporting events?

Thank you! Mine goes to 1/8000th. I'd fall asleep photographing sports. I'll be back on the field again today for another "kids throwing out the first pitch" event... so that will be enough baseball for me for another 5 years or so.

MY BOYS!!

Were you shooting these for Boeing? I can't quite make out the ball hitting the batter, though. Does Seattle still booo A-rod?

(i'm homesick)

These aren't for Bo3ing. I was on the field earlier for kids throwing out the first pitch for B. (right down there in the dirt just beyond where Itchiro is getting hit by the ball)

The ball is near the ground... it hit him and went down. (between his feet) Is A-rod still on the Roster?

A-Rod is with the Skankees now. I forgot. When he left Seattle for Texas, the crowds would boo him whenever he came to bat.

Thanks for posting these photos. They're fantastic.

first one is incredible - just thinking if that hit you - OUCH!

elegance in style, line and composition (as usual of course)

Thank you for your kind words! Yeah... he winced and kind of froze in that pose for a few seconds... it has to hurt like hell... and probably leave a pretty big bruise!
