That seismic activity you felt last night in Western Washington was not your imagination. Key arena was being systematically disassembled and restructured, 60 times a second... molecule by molecule. If you had your window open in King county... I'm sure you heard Brian May's guitar ripping you a new one. The Red Special, AC 30 Vox amps turned up to 11, blistering RAWK GOD riffs and the bombastic drumming of Roger Taylor provided me with over two hours of bird leather which will keep me joyous in case it's another 24 years before I have the divine pleasure to see Queen live again.
The integration of Paul Rodgers voice and his ditties was seamless and fit together as if it always belonged. Of course he's not Freddie... that goes with out saying. I dearly loved hearing radio friendly Bad Company songs... Brian May'd up. He'd play the solos note for note like the record... then spin a little Queen into their mix and reconstitute your cells to a higher consciousness. My greed shows when I say I could have just as easily listend to another 5 hours of the same.
You do not get to see this level of musical presentation often. They are on American Idol tonight... and live in Portland, Oregon. They are in Vancouver BC in a couple days. Go there... see this concert... it's the last one... maybe ever.
Thank you Brian, Roger, Paul and the rest.
This was the best birthday present I can remember. Thank you pod mate.
