Personality: Tidus is an upbeat and carefree teenager that works hard to become the best blitzball player. His father, Jecht, was known as one of the best players in the game, so Tidus wants to be better than him. At a young age, he had to go through hardships with his father's heavy criticism against him. Jecht was always showing off and talking big while making fun of him, so he grew to despise him and want to prove that he was better. Most people would think that Tidus wasn't the emotional type, but he is. He isn't afraid to share his views, help others, and doesn't hold back his feelings for other people especially his father. He can be a real crybaby, but he won't let anyone else catch him crying. The only people that has ever caught him crying are - his father and Auron.
When he first arrives to Spira, Tidus doesn't want to let go of his past in Zanarkand, so he tries everything in his power to go back. He was in complete denial about staying in Spira long. In the beginning, he only cared about wanting to go home and become the great blitzball star that he was before. He loved the limelight and didn't want to let it go. It took some time for Tidus to accept his new reality and find a new goal which was to save Yuna from her fate. There were times that he wanted to run away from his reality, find an easier way to solve a problem, or do everything another day. He isn't afraid to show that he can be selfish because he doesn't want to sacrifice one thing to save another. No. He wants everything to come out great in the end.
Whenever he's playing blitzball, Tidus can get quite competitive and even cocky of his skills because it is the one thing that he believes to be best at. The one thing that helps him think things through and just relax. Speaking his mind isn't something difficult for him to do because he always has something to say especially if it affects him emotionally. He can be like a child because he always finds doubts in what people have to say especially when it comes to their faith. Tidus does this because he likes to be completely certain about a subject instead of believing that there isn't another way around it.
It was later in the game that Tidus starts to become a mature and selfless hero. He starts to realize that he was taken to Spira for a reason and later finds out what that reason is. It was then that he decides that it was time to free Spira from Sin and he wasn't going to stop until Sin's gone even if it means to lose his own life.
His personality doesn't change much in Dissidia because he is the same cheerful and determined fighter in the group. Tidus always stays optimistic and cheerful even in the worse situations. His biggest weakness are his feelings towards his father, Jecht. Tidus listens more to his friends in Dissidia and offers his own advice to them. For example, Tidus encourages Cecil to search for his brother, Golbez. Also, Tidus isn't the type to take advantage against an injured enemy, either. He likes to fight against others when they are in their best, even his own father, who he has complicated feelings toward. Tidus still protects his allies from harm especially when they can't fight back. He believes firmly in dreams to the point he will protect his friend's dream and even treat them as his own.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Tidus is a very brave young man that would sacrifice his own life to save thousands of others. He is very quick on his feet and can get out of sticky situations by running away. He can be over-protective of those close to him because he doesn't want to see anyone he cares about get hurt. Tidus is very good at swimming and could swim at the toughest conditions because of his blitzball training. He isn't the type to sit back and watch other people be treated with injustice, so he will step in and try to fight for the victim. He might get easily depressed and look down at himself, but he always tries to make others laugh and feel good about themselves. He is very supportive and will do anything he can to help other people. His curiosity can be seen as a strength because he will ask questions until he is satisfied about a subject. Sometimes he tends to lose his temper easily especially when he feels frustrated or he's in a tight spot.
Tidus doesn't like to be alone and it scares him whenever he thinks about it. He tends to get angry easily and will talk back to whoever gets under his skin. He can be pretty loud whenever he feels upset. Also, he isn't afraid to speak his mind, no matter how good or bad it sounds. He is very emotional and tends to make decisions from pure impulse without thinking of the consequences. Tidus can be selfish, at times, especially when he believes that he's right. He also tends to complain about anything that bothers him which can get pretty annoying. Sometimes he can be pretty nosey about other people's lives even if he denies it, but he does it with good intentions especially if the person isn't doing well. Tidus is easy to read especially his feelings because he tends to be predictable except in the toughest moments. He's resourceful and quickly tries to find a way to solve problems, but if the problem is too hard then he'll run away or decides to do it another time. Tidus doesn't like to have any trouble, but he tends to attract it well.

First Person Sample: [After the video began to record, the only thing that could be seen was darkness until the hands blocking the camera opened to reveal a bright blue sky. Deciding that he needed to say something or anything, he turned the camera towards a confused blond hair teenager.] Anybody there? Was I the only one taken from Spira to this place? Actually, does anyone even know where this place actually is? This is definitely not Spira nor my Zanarkand, either. I never pictured the Farplane to look...and sound like this. Where is that music coming from?
[He begins to wonder out loud.] Are the fayth still dreaming? Didn't Yuna and the others free them? [He clearly remembers defeating Sin with the others and he began to disappear like the fayths had told him. It was one of the reasons he jumped off the ship. Realizing that he couldn't piece everything together, he started to get frustrated.] Dammit! I hate being out of the loop!
[After he let his emotions out, he begins to calm down.] Can anyone please answer me? Helloooooooo? Anyone there?
Third Person Sample: Sitting on the porch of his house for a couple of moments, he still couldn't believe where he landed in because he wasn't expecting it. Didn't the fayths explain he was going to disappear once Sin was defeated? And once Sin was defeated, weren't the fayths going to be free from their one thousand year old slumber? Tidus did everything in his power to help Yuna and the others defeat Sin; even thought he knew what would really happen to him in the end. It could be one of the reasons why he was feeling lost and confused.
He looked around a bit longer realizing that he didn't recognize the town he was standing in. "This...doesn't make any sense," spoke Tidus out loud. He just couldn't believe that he was still alive. Normally he would be celebrating and return to Yuna and the others as quickly as he can, but he could all ready tell that he wasn't in Spira. It didn't feel like it.
"Where the heck did I ended up to now?" asked Tidus as he got up from the porch and took a few steps towards the town. He looked at his surroundings realizing that he really wasn't in Spira nor at the Farplane, either.
"Heeeey! Where am I? Where is this place?" called Tidus out loud hoping to catch anyone's attention. He wanted answers and he wanted them now. He stomped his feet and realized that he had something in his back pocket, so he pulled it out to reveal a communicator of sorts. "Huh? Where did this come from?," asked Tidus wondering how long he had the communicator with him. He was wondering between using the device to ask for help or get out of the town as quickly as he can like the odd women told him to. He didn't know what to do, so he squeezed the device which began to make a peeping noise. It caught his attention and began to examine the device wondering if it was recording him. "Hmm." was all Tidus could say before deciding to record something. Maybe Yuna will be able to find the recording like he found his father's recording all over Spira. "Yeah. 10 years from now if I'm lucky," complained Tidus a bit.
Shrugging his shoulders, he decided to record a message onto the device if that's what the thing was doing.
