a boring life in a boring town
kinda of an odd title to this considering where i am and what i generally do....but the less than jake song is on so yea i put it down....
there are a few things i need to write about tonight, first being our dining commons here at unlv.
this is a sore subject with me at the moment. when the employees of the dc are even saying that the food sucks,something must be done to fix it. ok the menu choices were fuckiing horrible today for dinner. there was the rice, egg, and shrimp dish, that had too much hard rice and too few shrimp in it for my taste. and the shrimp tasted fishy as hell (they shouldnt) and they were about a quarter the size of thje shrip[ you get in those ramen cup o noodles things. i mean come on! when ramen has better quality of shrimp than an actual dinig place then something is wrong.
another thing that is kinda driving me nuts is that my group in my cooking class sucks. ok now i was nice for the first 2 classes. but 2 of them look at me like they hate me, and when i try to talk to them they always reply with the phrase "i have a boyfriend!!!!" like what the shit is that? ok, so can you hand me the knife so i can cut these carots, or does your bf need to be here to moniter what you do around me? i mean christ. then i cut my finger....like bad. then our soup sucked casue it was vegas or some shit. ok im not a great chef, but there is so much i can do with 3 vegtables and a bit of salt, im not a fucking miracle worker. ugh and my teach is hella cool in that class, he even agrees with my i got a dud of a group. oh! and it came out that im only 20, yea that doesnt seem like a big deal to most if not all of you but it was to my class. they all thought i was 23 or 24. and ! i am the youngest in that class, by atleast 2 years! even better is that now i am called the baby. although my teach thinks im a tough bastard after i cut my finger and was like "ahh tape it up and then glove it, i got a soup to finsih" he was pretty impressed with it. another guy like twice my age hardly slit his finger and went home, pussy.
oh, and this friday i am heading to flogging molly at the hob, i dont give a fuck if im not 21, i havent missed a show yet there, and im not about to.
whatelse oh yea i prolly wont get thanksgiving off so i am stuck here till prolly december, if i dont get out of this valley soon improlly going to go crazy. i swear the dirt in the air in this city keeps getting worse! i mean christ all the construction that is going on is mind boggling. last week 3 new condo towers opened, there is like 40 more schedualed to open this year alone. i think the city of lv is wanting to become like nyc in 10 years, instead of the what? 70 or more years it took them to become like they are. its fucking nuts.
oh with that unlv is building 3 new buildings for next year. the new student union is goingt o be masssive, 5 floors!! imean we dont even use the first one, let aklone 4 more! what unlv needs is a big fuckingparking garage, but no, we are getting a new rec center and a student uniion, oh and some new office complex ro something. its horse shit!
