That sinking feeling

Completely messed up my SOP.  Too narrative-y, too conversational, too specific, too stuffed with names, too bleh.  Why did I send it off?  One prof has responded (one week later) with a lot of very, very critical comments.  No smiles in there.  Ugh.

Thank goodness it's election day.  No school, plenty of time to devote to this writing/ordering transcripts/freaking out nonsense.
