(no subject)
I'm feeling dark today. Literally dark. I hadn't noticed just how burned, and consequently tanned, I got in Pittsburgh (of all places :P). I did go to the Pirates' game against the Tigers. I suppose the several hours of sitting out in the sun screaming in dehydrated furor may have had something to do with that..
Since I've gotten back, I've resumed a very old habit of avoiding clear, sunny weather when at all possible. But I've decided to go out during the day today- shocking though it may be.
I did burn myself out over the past month with endless activity but I don't think a month of rest is at all warranted. It's been 4 days and already my blood is boiling for action. I'm going for a long swim here shortly, going to bike to the store to shop, find some books at the library, and I think I'm even tempted to pull out ye olde yoga workout for the courtyard.
Tonight Josh and I are going to the Afterward CD release party at some LA club called The Joint. This should be fun. I always have a good time at James' (drummer of Afterward) parties, though they are fewer and farther in between now. The only thing that concerns me is that when he dropped off our tickets the other day, James seemed quite distant. I worry that this mastering and remastering of the EP over nearly the past year has bled him dry. He just looked so tired- a shell of his former animated self. I hope that this party rejuvinates him (and the rest of the band) sufficiently. Either way I know they put on a great live show.
