So a tiny little update for those of you who read this:
1) I've officially applied for an aparment in Omaha at Camelot Village. The apartment I want is actually quite nice for the price range, and I'lll even have a backyard that's next to landscaped churchgrounds. It's like getting a free garden. Very much of the awesome.
2) UNO is very kickass. I spoke to the head of the department I'll be applying to and he's a really cool guy who actually had some suggestions on potential senior projects for me given my interests. Part of the program is to build a battlebot. Each lab class you take involves applying what you've learned to upgrade your bot, but you can add anything else you want beyond the bare minimum to pass labs. Dr. Chen suggested that since my interests are power sources and management I could redesign the power supply system for the bots. It may seem trivial, but power efficiency is a major issue in robotics, and if I can find ways to improve the battlebot in a marketable/commercially viable way, I could possibly get a job building rovers or probes at NASA (which would be a fucking dream come true).
3) I am madly in love with Libbie. She's madly in love with me. This Christmas/New Years will really be the first big test for us as I'll be staying with her for two weeks. If we can get a good routine going during that visit, then we really will know that we can handle being together instead of just believing we can. The next big test is not going insane between coming home in January and finally moving out there in early March.
4) Operation: Best New Years Ever has come one step closer to completion.
