Here's a challenge for everyone:

Every time you think something, ask yourself why you think that.

what, people don't? (and that'd be my cynicism...)

My favorite is "how do I KNOW that? Where did that knowledge come from?"

What always interested me is how some thoughts lead to other thoughts that are completely unrelated, yet somehow remind you of certain things.

It because neurons are connected to each other.

Brains are scary.

haha I already do that.

think about this...

why do we think...

Was it some form of evolutionary response to the fact we are physically weaker then all predators?

Considering the stories I've heard of some guys hunting with nothing more than a large knife, I wouldn't say that we don't have the potential to be just as strong and agile as some predators.

Yeah but the only way they can use the knife is if they can think and reason.

Back when man had just started walking up right there wasn't much thinking going on and they had no natural defenses other than the ability to run up a tree. So I am thinking maybe the thought process was an evolutionary response to the fact we are very vulnerable physically without much thought.

Didn't really help us very much until fairly recently in history.

OK, I realize that a lot of people have two or three thoughts a day and they shouldn't have too much trouble thinking about, "Gee, why did I just think about getting lunch? Oh, because I'm hungry!" but those of us who have fully functional brains and use them frequently have too many thoughts to stop and think about why they had each of them.

Give it a shot anyway, despite the impossibility. I think the most important things to apply this to are opinions.

That's more than just a challenge. That's impossible. A person would think something, stop and ask why they're thinking that, then ask why they're asking (because of your question) and then ask why they're taking your challenge, and then ask why they're thinking about taking your challenge, and so on for the rest of their lives... :P

Yea, I was going no where with that.

Yea, it is completely impossible to do it to that extent. Still, try anyway and see what you realize.
