TODAY WAS A BLAST! I was just at the most amazing a cappella concert ever. There is more talent at Yale than I could ever imagine. Of course the Whiffenproofs are good, but I thought they were a mear third place compared to Shades and the Duke's Men. Shades is the African-American music group that was the most amazing ever. Really. I'm completely serious. They were perfect and the soloist in their second song had the best voice I have ever heard in person and one of the best I've ever heard, period. Then there were the Duke's Men, which were also amazing. The second soloist for them was particularly great. Oddly, I had met him last year when I was doing my overnight with Will, so I was looking for him because I remember him being the only person in Will's part of last year's Branford freshman dorm to get into a cappella. He was the second most amazing singer I'd ever heard in person. It's actually all very intimidating, but I'm hoping that not everyone is as good in every group. It's so ridiculous how talented these people are.
Before that I was at the "Bazaar" where I got info on all the a cappella, musical theater, comic book, and, strangely enough, opera organizations. Not that I'm going to be in half of the clubs that I put myself on the mailing lists for, but it was still fun, albeit way too overcrowded. I bumped into Will there.
I also took my Spanish Placement Exam, which started off really easy and got ridiculously hard at the end. I almost finished though, which is quite a triumph for me. I'm just trying to place high enough in Spanish to get out of a semester. Hopefully I don't place too high, though I doubt it.
Well anyway time to go to bed because I have to wake up in less than 5 hours to go to some physics thing, even though I don't know if I'm actually going to take physics. ALAS.
