I never thought I'd say this, but I can't wait for this semester to be over. Right now, the only class I'm getting any enjoyment out of is Ancient Literature, mostly because Dr. Collar is wonderful and discussions actually work in that class. (Everyone, including myself, contributes things. OMFG.) Other than that, I've very nearly stopped caring.
I also want to do this past week all over again. Recently, I have:
-smashed headfirst into the Mozart Clarinet Concerto glass ceiling. Because no matter how much I try and work on it, I simply cannot manage to get the piece within range of performance tempo. Or get the arpeggiated runs under my fingers. Or play anything cleanly. In short, I suck, and that became painfully obvious this week. (And juries are how many weeks away again?)
-Completely forgotten about my clarinet lesson, in which I could have tried to have Dr. Specht help me with the piece. Mrs. McConnell was also supposed to come to said lesson and accompany me. Shit.
-Completely forgotten that my fantasy story was due at 5 instead of 8. And now Dr. Kimmel probably hates me, because I look like a huge slacker.
-Nearly forgot to read Medea for Ancient Lit because I was writing the aforementioned fantasy story. I tried to read it at midnight the night before class and fell asleep within five pages. Finished it the next morning in the Honors house and fell asleep on a couch.
-Was rendered nearly unable to sleep due to heat. The temperature is ridiculous in here (even more so than the rest of France, it seems. If we even touch the heating unit, the room turns into a sauna.) Even if the room is fine when you're standing on the floor, it's unbearable when I get in bed because all the heat stays up near the ceiling. Yeah, it's winter in France, but I never had a problem with waking up and being literally soaked in sweat, even if I'm wearing my thinnest pajamas and didn't have any blankets on the bed, last year. And I have no idea how I can move my stuff around to fix this (still having room for Costina and I's stuff) without putting the bed even closer to the ceiling, but right next to the window. But at this point, I don't care.
I did discuss making up my piano proficiencies with Dr. Ohl, though. And I went bowling with Mike last night and actually scored higher than 40 without bumpers. But that's the extent of good things that happened this week.
I also noticed that my computer is running incredibly slow and Firefox keeps freezing on me. But every time I run any sort of virus or spyware/adware scan, nothing comes up. I deleted a bunch of personal files I never use, but I don't know if that's the problem, considering I've barely even used up a third of my hard drive space. I'll probably defrag my hard drive tonight. Maybe that'll do something. So I doubt I'll be on AIM for the rest of the day. x2490 to get me out of the room.
