#joey and gene #and to think that when I first created them my friends and I contemplated moving their setting to Canada #because they were kinder to lgbtq community #because lord only knew when our country was going to start recognizing marriage equality #more so I remember one day one of my best friends came to school really quiet and sad #after much prodding he admitted he felt hopeless that he would probably never be able to marry or adopt children because our country would never accept him #It took over ten years since that day but hooray one step closer :) #I'm so happy for all my friends past and present #now to fight for anti-discrimination and wiping out ignorance #love wins #kind of want to modernize Joey and Gene now #they were contemporary for their time hur hur #also hooray I drew!
