And what a fabulous trip we've had! We arrived back home monday evening but I didn't feel up to blogging due to the still-going-seventy-mph sensation in my skull. I always get this after a long motorway journey, don't know why!
Here's our little cottage, perched high in the hills in a little village near Pwllheli on the Penrhyn Llyn Peninsula.
Cute, huh? It's small and cosy and it boasts a wood burning fire - which gave Big Bro and Hubby hours of pyromaniacal entertainment. One night it got so hot that the cork of a bottle of red wine we'd left gently warming on the hearth melted completely! No worries if you don't have a corkscrew at this cottage!
Here are a couple of sunsets shot right outside our front door:
It really is a beautiful part of the world. Did I mention there are castles here - real, ancient castles?
Cricceith Castle.
Cricceith Castle from the beach.
Dolwyddelan Castle, Snowdonia.
And some castles come complete with a herd of goats!
Dolbadarn Castle, nr Llanberis.
If castles aren't your thing, how about woodland walk?
Or what about a nice cliff top stroll instead?
Did we want to leave this magical place? Put it this way, on our return home the Clampetts and their Fugly friends were banging and crashing around - as per usual - next door, and Helldog set off barking like fury. You do the maths! On the plus side (touch wood!), the house sale seems to be gathering speed. Our purchaser would like to exchange contracts at the end of the month. Let's hope our mortgage offer comes through this week. I am so ready to leave it's like a physical ache now.
