For Christmas, my mother bought me and the wife an excellent luggage set. Thing is, we already own between three and five hand-me-down suitcases at any given time (dependant on how many we leave in Hawaii with the in-laws). With the exchange, we bought the following:
- Calphalon Pans: I finally threw out one of our two old pans from our college days. These new pans are great! I just have to get used to not spraying them with olive oil, otherwise the oil turns sticky and gross.
- Magic Bullet: The "As Seen on TV" skepticism was outweighed by both exchange money and the awful blender we have now. So far, this thing is awesome. It's just a high-powered blender with screw-on attachments ... but that's the beauty of it. It's very easy to clean. Now if only they'd move on to an easy-to-clean wafflemaker.
- Roomba: As the icing on the cake, we threw in a bit of our own money to top off a Roomba purchase. We bought Roomba Red, which is the cheapest (and cutest) model. And after two weeks of use, I give it many thumbs up. The battery life seems to be ~1.5 hours, the bumper is sensitive enough that I can just put stools or chairs together as a "wall", it's easy to clean, the humans only need to vacuum stairs now. All that and they're hacker friendly.
All in all a triumphant post-Christmas exchange! In closing,
